What Are Hague Convention Cases?

The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction is a treaty between member countries established in 1980. It was created so that children would be immediately returned if taken from their country of habitual residence in violation of the other parent’s custody rights. It also is meant to ensure that relocation and custody matters are decided in the proper jurisdiction.
